Densho

Densho is a Japanese term meaning "to pass on to the next generation," or to leave a legacy. Densho's mission is to preserve the testimonies of Japanese Americans who were unjustly incarcerated during World War II before their memories are extinguished. They offer firsthand accounts, historical images and teacher resources, to explore principles of democracy and promote equal justice for all.



Japanese Cultural Center of Hawai'i


The Japanese Cultural Center of Hawai‘i (JCCH), a non-profit organization, strives to share the history, heritage and culture of the evolving Japanese American experience in Hawai‘i.  The Cultural Center features a Community and Historical Gallery, Resource Center, martial arts dōjō, Japanese teahouse and Gift Shop.  The Resource Center’s Online Library Catalog includes records for books, archival collections, oral histories, audiovisual materials, and vertical file materials. 


National Park Service- Honouliuli Monument


The new Honouliuli National Monument tells the history of internment and martial law in Hawai‘i during World War II. Honouliuli is a place to reflect on wartime experiences and recommit ourselves to the pursuit of freedom and justice.
